THE Co-op is fundraising to install a new defibrillator at their Old Town store.
The company’s shops across Swindon will be hosting events from Friday until Sunday to help raise money.
The Co-op has teamed up with The Community Heartbeat Trust who are a charity dedicated to providing defibrillation services to local communities.
The charity will support the Co-op by supplying the defibrillator and helping to raise awareness of sudden cardiac arrest and the shop has pledged to pay the ongoing maintenance costs.
Sean Varney, Old Town store manager, said: “We hope that undertaking this initiative will have a real impact on what could be a difficult scenario for the emergency services and we hope Swindon people will get behind this fantastic cause and help us raise enough money to provide this life-saving service.”
