THE fledgling Swindon Record and CD Fair aims to hit the right notes when it returns on Saturday.

It is the third event since it launched in July and it will run between 9am and 4pm at Central Community Centre, in Emlyn Square.

There will be eight traders at the fair with vinyls in genres including rock, pop, techno, funk, rap and folk, among others, on sale.

Records will be available for as little as 50p so bargain hunters are sure to find a gem or two.

Organiser Rusty Webb said: “Everything is going well and we have eight good traders.

“I hand pick most of the sellers because I buy and sell records myself so I’ve got to know people. I welcome these guys as they’re reliable and have good collections.”

Visitors are welcome to bring their own good condition vinyls that they’d like to trade and sell. Along with the records, there will be CDs and posters of iconic musicians on sale.

Rusty said: “I think we’ll have another great event and I’m looking forward to welcoming our regulars back as well as lots of new people. I’ve had a lot of people saying how disappointed they were to miss the first two events so hopefully we’ll have a few new people down this time too.”

Rusty said he’s delighted by the success of the fair and wants it to keep growing in the future.

He said: “We are proving so popular that we have six more sellers on a waiting list, hoping that somebody else drops out.

“We’ve really enjoyed being at our current venue but we’d ideally like to move somewhere which can allow us to double in size and have tables that we could use, going forward.

“It feels great that there are so many people in and around Swindon who are keen to revive passions for records. If there are any traders out there or anyone who thinks they could provide a new home for us in the future I’d love to hear from them.”

Another fair will take place on January 3. For more information email russellwebb247@msn.com.
