Judith Case, the chairman of local relationship support charity Relate, has been crowned a Relate Hero.

Judith, who has worked with Relate Gloucestershire and Swindon for eight years, was nominated for the award for her work with the local branch since becoming chairman in 2010.

She said: “I was really honoured to be nominated as a Relate hero.

“The work we do here to support relationships in our community makes a real difference and is very important to me.

“I’m particularly pleased to have been involved in the development of our recent Young Survivors project which has brought free counselling to 11 to 25-year-olds in Swindon who have witnessed or experienced domestic abuse.”

Centre manager Ellaine Cameron said: “We are very proud that Judith has been recognised as a Relate Hero.

“Judith has worked tirelessly to help people build and enjoy healthy relationships and it is great that she has been rewarded.”

The Relate Hero awards were initially created as part of the national charity’s 75th birthday celebrations last year.

This year’s winners were presented with certificates and prizes at a presentation at Relate’s national annual conference in Northamptonshire earlier this month.
