LOVEBIRDS Angie Mifsud and Steven Titcombe are looking forward to planning their perfect day, after winning the Adver’s Win Your Wedding competition.

The lucky couple, who have five children between them, have spent the past few weeks asking their friends and family to enter their votes, and they even spent £150 on newspapers to improve their chances of winning the special package sponsored by the Mecure South Marston Hotel and Spa worth more than £10,000.

But 29-year-old Angie was still left shocked and surprised when the call came through to tell her they’d won.

The stay-at-home-mum said: “I had just parked up in ASDA when she rang. I was about to go shopping. I was so surprised.

“I couldn’t do my shopping, I was just wandering around the aisles in my own little bubble I was so happy.

“I have just been so excited. I’ve not been allowed to tell anyone but I really just want to let everyone know. It’s been so hard to keep quiet.”

Angie and Steven first met each other when they were in school, but they only became an item five years ago after reconnecting over Facebook.

They decided to try their luck and enter the competition after Steven proposed last year.

Steven, 32, who works as a shopfitter with Amh Shopfitting, said: “I have never felt about anybody the way I feel about Angie.

“I just knew that I wanted her to marry me and I wanted to spend the rest of my life with her.

“That’s when I decided to ask her to marry me, on her birthday last year.”

Ange said: “He went out shopping with my sister and they got the ring and a bag and they filled it with heart-shaped chocolates and there was a rose too.

“I was so happy. I said yes of course because I love him and I want to spend the rest of my life with him.”

Over the next few months the couple will plan their wedding with the help of the Mecure, and be able to invite up to 150 guests and enjoy the ceremony at the hotel as well.

“I always knew I wanted a hotel wedding, but I never had any bigger ideas than that,” said Angie.

“We had started looking into planning our wedding but it can be so expensive these days and so we thought we’d try the competition.

“As soon as I entered I broadcasted it all over social media and asked all y friends and family to vote for us. They’ve all been amazing.

“It was only when we were in the top 10 that I really started pushing it though because that’s when I thought we really did have a chance.”
