THE Royal Wootton Bassett and Cricklade Area Board has received only 70 applications for a grant to help homeowners repair flooded property.

The Government’s repair and review grant, which is aimed at helping homeowners that were flooded last winter, is open to applications.

Those who were flooded between December 1, 1013 and March 31, 2014 and have installed, or were thinking about installing, measures to make their property more resistant or resilient to flooding can claim the support from the Government until February 28, 2015.

However, the board said numbers of applications had not been as high as expected and people are being urged to put their case forward.
