POWER has been restored by Scottish and Southern Electric Power Distribution engineers after parts of Wiltshire were affected by two faults this morning.
About 140 customers in Melksham, Corsham, Bradford on Avon and the surrounding area were reconnected by midday, said a spokesman for SSE PD.
A fault in an overhead cable was reported at 7.30am.
A spokesman said earlier: "We apologise for any inconvenience to customers and we are working as quickly as possible to restore power safely."
He could not confirm the cause of the fault but said investigations would be taking place.
Some homes in west Wiltshire were affected after a cable was damaged in Sherbourne, Dorset, at about 9am.
The spokesman said power supplies were rerouted so that of the 1,300 homes originally affected virtually all were reconnected within a short time.
