ANOTHER Friday, another Katie Hopkins column and another stinging swipe at Swindon.

The Sun’s columnist addressed her Twitter spat with renowned vlogger Zoella, but described the YouTube sensation’s followers as 'more stupid than people at a failing academy in Swindon.'

Zoe Sugg aka Zoella, is a fashion and beauty blogger brought up in Lacock, near Chippenham, who came under fire this month for admitting she had received help in writing her bestselling novel Girl Online.

Hopkins, 39, has spent the week trading blows with some of Zoella’s six million YouTube subscribers on Twitter and attacked their stupidity.

In her column today, she said: “They call themselves a fandom. This is like a kingdom, but for fans – and full of more stupid people than a failing academy in Swindon.”

Just two weeks ago she described the town as Godforsaken in addressing the influx of German markets to shopping districts over the Christmas period.

She said: “The brown huts of German markets pop up everywhere, flogging wares mass-produced in Swindon or some other Godforsaken place.”

The mother-of-three was questioning the popularity of the markets, given our nation’s desire to avoid Germans at every turn during the rest of the year.

In May the columnist suggested convicted terrorist Abu Hamza’s family move to Swindon from London.

“Surely the most sensible thing would be to move them to an ugly place no one cares about - like Swindon.”
