WILTSHIRE Police are renewing an appeal for information following a burglary and assault of a couple in their 70s in Rodbourne.

The incident took place at about 6pm on Sunday at a Cheney Manor house.

Four men forced entry into the house and assaulted a couple in their seventies. The men took an amount of cash and ran out of the property.

The victims sustained facial injuries and were taken to Great Western Hospital. They have both since left hospital.

The four men have been described as black, in their early to mid 20s and were wearing dark clothing.

An efit of one of the men police would like to speak to in connection with this incident has now been released.

DS Tom Straker said: "I am urging the public to contact us if they know anything about this incident - no-one should have to go through the ordeal that this elderly couple endured on Sunday night in their own home.

"I'd like to reiterate that we are particularly keen to speak to anyone who may have seen four men running from the house or in the surrounding area immediately after the incident last Sunday.

"We have a number of detectives working on this investigation and we are continuing to look into potential lines of enquiry."

Anyone with information is asked to contact DS Tom Straker at Swindon CID on 101. Alternatively call Crimestoppers 0800 555 111 where details may be left anonymously if preferred.
