ROYAL Wootton Bassett Chamber of Commerce is introducing a number of new initiatives following last month’s meeting about the new MoD Defence College of Technical Training at Lyneham.

More than 150 people attended the meeting, which was an opportunity for local businesses to find out how they can serve the needs of the incoming trainees and staff at the college when it opens next November.

There are now plans to introduce an online questionnaire to enable chamber members to share their views on how the chamber can operate to make the most of their membership, arrange a meet the customer opportunity at REME Arborfield Garrison with the MoD, and create opportunities for advertising and IT members to develop channels to promote businesses to trainees on site.

They will also work to develop a privileged member-to-member referral scheme.
