POLICE are renewing their appeal for information over a sexual assault which happened just after 11pm on Thursday, November 27, around Lincoln Street in the town centre.

A 34-year-old woman was walking in the area when she was attacked and sexually assaulted by a man.

He then ran off in the direction of Euclid Street.

A man police want to speak to in connection with the incident is described as white, wearing a dark coloured long sleeved top and jeans.

He is seen walking along Regent Circus in the direction of Groundwell Road in CCTV footage released by police.

DC Adam Leakey said: "This was an extremely distressing incident for the victim and it is vitally important that we are able to find the person responsible and bring them to justice.

"We would like to identify the man pictured in the CCTV footage. If you know him, please contact us as soon as possible. This man may have vital information to assist us with our enquiries."
