Comedian Michael McIntyre has cancelled his Work in Progress warm-up show, which was due to take place at Swindon Arts Centre tonight.
The centre said this morning that McIntyre, who lives at Compton Bassett, near Calne, was unwell.
A spokesman said that tickets for tonight's show would be valid for any rescheduled date, which it is hoped will take place within the next month.
A short statement on the arts centre’s website said: “Michael McIntyre is unwell and unable to perform this evening, Thursday, January 22, at Swindon Arts Centre.
The 38-year-old stand-up was returning to the Devizes Road venue for the second time in two years, to try out new material for 2015 tour Happy & Glorious and is said to particularly enjoy performing to Swindon audiences.
In 2013 there were queues stretching outside the theatre along the street with fans attempting to get their hands on tickets.
The 2015 tour starts in Plymouth on August 8.
