INDIVIDUALS, businesses, schools and your Adver will be looking resplendent in red next week to help in the fight against heart disease.

The British Heart Foundation is keen to hear from anyone who may want to fundraise for the Wear It. Beat It. event, on Friday, February 6.

People are being encouraged to wear something red on the day for a small donation to the charity.

And your Adver will be taking part, with 1p from every copy of the paper sold on the day being donated to the British Heart Foundation.

Newspaper sales manager at the Adver, Rachael Youd, said: “The Swindon Advertiser is delighted to be supporting the British Heart Foundation on their Wear it. Beat it. day.

“We’ll be donating 1p from every copy sold and 10 per cent of our advertising revenue from the special in-paper feature on the day.

“The staff at the paper will also be fundraising on Red Friday by wearing red and taking part in lots of red-themed activities to raise money for such a worthwhile charity.”

Louise Parkes, fundraising director at the BHF, said: “We are extremely grateful to the Swindon Advertiser for committing to donate a penny from every issue sold on February 6 to the BHF as part of Wear It. Beat It.

Wear it. Beat it. is a fantastic opportunity for everyone to come together to fight against heart and circulatory disease.

“The money raised by the Swindon Advertiser will help us continue our life-saving research.

“Our cutting-edge programme of research is powered by your generosity and support. Every pound raised will help make a massive difference to the millions of people living with these conditions.”

Anyone wishing to sign up to take part, be it an organisation or an individual, can log on to wearitbeatit.bhf.org.uk, where fundraising packs and more information are available.
