POLICE and council officers have been working with landowners after a group of travellers moved onto a site on the Cheney Manor Industrial Estate.
Around half a dozen caravans, along with several other vehicles, moved onto empty land next to the Easy Living Furniture depot in Darby Close.
It is believed the group moved onto the land the previous day having come from the BMW factory.
Today lorries were still able to go in and out of the Easy Living depot but the gates were locked in between each vehicle movement.
A council spokesman said: “The travellers were occupying the BMW car park off Bridge End Road without permission, but moved from there to the disused factory site at Cheney Manor Industrial estate on Wednesday afternoon.
“The encampment is on private land and the police and council officers are liaising with the landowner.”
The travellers declined to comment.
