JED McCrory’s attempts to wrestle control of Swindon Town from Lee Power appear to be over, after he withdrew from the Court of Appeal this week.

On Wednesday, the case of Swinton Reds 20 Limited versus McCrory & Seebeck 87 was closed by the court.

On October 28, the appeal was lent weight by the court, as it was passed to the listing office for an official hearing after nearly three months of assessment by Lord Justice Briggs.

However, for reasons currently unknown, the appeal has been officially withdrawn by Mr McCrory, which is classed as a final judgement.

In July, Nicholas Strauss QC, deputy judge of the High Court, ruled in favour of Swinton Reds 20 and Lee Power after a two-day case to determine the ultimate owner of the club.

Swinton Reds had filed its claim for ownership in the Chancery Division of High Court, and brought Seebeck 87, plus Jed McCrory, to the court as defendants.
