THE Swindon car passenger killed in a collision with an HGV on Saturday afternoon in Hampshire has been named as 53-year-old Simon Shore.
Simon, of Highworth, was pronounced dead at the scene, shortly after 5.45pm, when the Vauxhall Zafira he was travelling in collided on the northbound carriageway of the A34.
The driver of the HGV, 48-year-old Piotr Janowski from Poland, has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving and causing serious injury by dangerous driving for the Tufton crossroads incident.
He appeared at Basingstoke Magistrates' Court today and is expected before the courts again next month.
The driver of the car, a 40-year-old man, and two rear seat passengers, a 13-year-old girl and 38-year-old man, sustained minor injuries.
