A WOMAN accused of murdering Swindon man Michael Redpath last September is set to appear in court this morning.

Patricia Hindle, 29, of Crombey Street, is expected to appear before Judge Neil Ford QC at Bristol Crown Court.

She is accused of the murder of 62-year-old Mr Redpath after a blaze at a property in Albion Street on September 10.

Emergency services were called to the blaze at 9.16pm and firefighters rescued Mr Redpath. He was taken to the Great Western Hospital by the South Western Ambulance Service, but later died.

A post-mortem revealed that Mr Redpath died of smoke inhalation and burns.

Hindle was last expected at the court in November, where she was expected to enter a plea at a case management hearing, but the hearing was postponed until today.

Should the case require a trial, it is expected to take between seven days and two weeks, and will be overseen by a High Court kudge, from March 9.

When the court last sat on the case, on September 17, Hindle was told she would remain in custody. The seriousness of the case meant that it was sent to Bristol Crown Court after Hindle appeared at Swindon Magistrates’ Court.
