A 32-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of three separate burglaries at a Domino’s store in Stratton St Margaret over the last four months.

The pizza outlet in Windbrook Meadow has consistently been targeted around the store’s closing time of 2am, with the offenders seeking to take off with cash from the day’s takings.

On October 20 last year the store was hit for the first time in the early hours of the morning.

Then, on December 1, two men in their early 30s entered the store at around 1am and threatened staff on duty while brandishing meat cleavers.

The men had attempted to conceal their identity by concealing their faces under scarves, and made away with a small amount of cash. The next day new CCTV cameras were installed outside the front of the shop.

In the most recent incident on January 18, two people are believed to have gained entry to the store at around 2.30am, before stealing a small amount of money and the new CCTV recording equipment.

The offenders were seen on Windbrook Meadow a number of times between 2.30am and 4.30am, returning to the scene of the crime on several occasions.

A 32-year-old man from Uxbridge has now been arrested on suspicion of all three burglaries, and police are seeking the accomplice in at least the last two incidents.

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “Wiltshire Police are appealing for information following a burglary in Swindon.

“The incident took place between 2.30am and 4.30am on Sunday 18th January 2015 at Domino’s in Windbrook Meadow.

“The offenders gained entry to the store and stole a small amount of money and CCTV recording equipment from the premises.

“During the incident, they left the venue on several occasions, walking along Windbrook Meadow, before returning to Domino’s.

“The offenders then fled the scene, running across the main road, into the rear of Ruskin Junior School, near Keats Crescent and Wordsworth Drive.

“A 32-year old man, from Uxbridge, was arrested on suspicion of burglary for this offence. He has also been arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary in relation to two previous offences. He has since been released on bail pending further enquiries.

“This is the third burglary at the store in the past four months. The first incident took place on 20th October 2014 and the second took place on 1st December 2014, all during the early hours of the morning.”
