REVELLERS have expressed their disappointment at the looming closure of a Swindon nightclub.

The Liquor Lounge, in Fleet Street, opened 18 months ago but the venue’s owners have announced it will hold its final night of fun on Saturday.

The club broke the news on its Facebook page and dozens of customers have expressed their sadness.

Shane Williams said: “This sucks so much, won’t be going to town now.”

Another clubber said: “Absolutely no point at all in going down town in Swindon after Saturday then. Liquor will be hugely missed. lots of love to all the staff.”

Debbie Holman said: “This is so very sad. I feel for my daughter and her friends. They have had many a brilliant time at your club. Good luck to you all.”

A post on Liquor Lounge’s page said it was hoped Saturday’s party would be a night to remember.

A spokesman for the club said: “We are very, very, very sad to say that Liquor Lounge will be closing down after this weekend.

“The last night will be Saturday. We are open until 4am and we have to drink the bar dry. So there will be drinks deals all night.

“Very sad news and we would like to thank all the staff and especially all the customers who have supported us.

“We love you all and see you all for the closing party this Saturday.”

What the premises will be used for after Saturday is not known but it is understood that Liquor Lounge management were unable to agree a new lease with the landlord.

Earlier this month one of the club’s resident DJs left Liquor Lounge.

Revellers can join the farewell party from 10pm to 4am.
