Police are renewing an appeal for witnesses following an assault in Swindon.

The incident took place at about 8.20pm on Friday, December 19, outside Mackenzies bar on Wood Street.

A 59-year-old man was assaulted by at least seven men who then ran off in the direction of the Goddard Arms pub.

The victim suffered facial injuries following the attack but did not require hospital treatment.

A 50-year-old man from Swindon was arrested on suspicion of causing actual bodily harm and has been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

Officers are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or saw several men running away from the Wood Street area.

CCTV images of four of the men police would like to speak to in connection with the incident have been issued.
