CHARITABLE fashionistas are looking ravishing in red today in aid of a heart charity – and the Adver is doing its bit to help.

The British Heart Foundation’s Wear It. Beat It. day is taking place across the country, with the charity hoping people will wear red in support of Heart Month, which runs throughout February.

Your Adver is helping by donating 1p from the cover price of every newspaper sold today.

The appeal aims to cut the number of deaths, estimated at almost 15,600 in the South West each year.

More than £1million was raised in the South West during the red fundraising event in 2014 and the target is to improve on that total this year.

Louise Parkes, fundraising director at the BHF, said: “We are extremely grateful to the Swindon Advertiser for committing to donate a penny from every issue sold.

“Wear it. Beat it. is a fantastic opportunity for everyone to come together to fight against heart and circulatory disease. The money raised by the Swindon Advertiser will help us continue our life-saving research.

“Every pound raised will help make a massive difference.”
