Who goes there?

If you are coming to the Village Inn, it may be wise to make a reservation.

The comfortable country pub is popular with people of all ages who come as much for the food as the selection of local beers.

From its split-level front bar to the newly-extended rear bar, the Village Inn is as smart a pub as you are likely to come across. Even the toilets have won awards for their cleanliness and luxury.

The Village Inn is also a bed and breakfast and has function rooms for hire.

What’s it like?

After several changes of ownership the pub, orginally called The Bell, was renamed in 1982 and Arkell’s bought it in May 1994.

The first Bell stood on the other side of the road before its owner, John Whitling, built the current pub in 1875. The original building, which dated back to at least 1789, was demolished in 1894.

The Village Inn is the kind of pub that provides a pleasant surprise for thirsty walkers and cyclists exploring the surrounding countryside, and drivers who happen upon it when passing through. But others will tell you such things should not be left to chance.
