WINDING-UP proceedings rumble on for Swindon Town's owner with another High Court date set for next Monday to resolve who owes St John Law money from last summer's ownership case.

In a hearing at The Rolls Building in London this morning, Miss Registrar Derrett adjourned the hearing to allow for the service of evidence before representations are heard before Companies Court.

After requesting the substitution of HM Revenue & Custom's (HMRC) original winding-up petition last month, the legal firm and its administrator, Quantuma, revealed it had an engagement letter and invoices proving Swindon Town Football Company Limited's (STFCL) liability.

Niall McCulloch, on behalf of STFCL, underlined the existing dispute and said the petitioner was simply pursuing the wrong party for the funds.

Club non-executive director Sangita Shah attended but chairman Lee Power, who has maintained this is a personal debt and not one of the club's, was not present.

Ms Shah said afterwards: "This is an example of rank opportunism.

"We will resolve it very swiftly, there is absolutely no danger to the club.

"It's just a disgrace they're able to do what they did today."
