THAMESDOWN Transport buses will be running to modified timetables over the Easter weekend.

On Good Friday, April 3, a Saturday service will be in operation between 8am and 6pm on Services 1, 1A, 2, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 17, 18, 19 and 22.

There will be a special service on Service 16, which will serve the Great Western Hospital.

Meanwhile, on Saturday and Sunday, April 4 and 5, all services will be operating as normal.

On Easter Monday, April 6, normal Sunday timetables will apply.

Paul Jenkins, the managing director of Thamesdown Transport, said: “The Easter weekend is the perfect time to leave the car at home and try taking the bus instead, particularly if you would like to visit the new town centre cinema and restaurants at Regent Circus, or even get out for a walk at Lydiard Park.

“By using some of our great value tickets, such as our Family For A Fiver, everyone can travel easily on the bus around the town and not have to worry about the chance of getting stuck in traffic jams or struggling to finding parking spaces.”

The Family For A Fiver ticket allows one day’s unlimited travel across the Swindon urban area for up to two adults and three children, for the reduced holiday and weekend price of £5.

Tickets can be bought on the bus from the driver and they will be available all through the school Easter holiday as well as over the Easter weekend.

The Thamesdown Travel Shop in Fleming Way will be closed on Good Friday and Bank Holiday Monday.

For more information on bus times for each service over the Bank Holiday weekend, look out for the special Easter leaflets on the buses.
