TODAY is D-day for Highworth Town in its quest to reach Wembley with 1,500 supporters gathering in North Shields for the 3pm kick-off.

Around 150 fans are due to be in place at Daren PerssonStadium this afternoon, with many setting off from North Wiltshire this morning (SAT), hoping that it will soon be known as v-day, with a win.

The Worthians must turn around a 1-0 deficit from their first leg with the Tyneside outfit in order to secure a spot at the home of football on May 9.

The players and committee sat down together last night (FRI) for a last supper and unwound with the England match.

The team and manager John Fisher has already been reassured by chairman Rohan Haines they will go down as legends at The Elms regardless of the club’s status by 6pm this evening (SAT).

A coach carrying players, committee members and supporters departed Highworth yesterday (FRI) morning, with another coach and minibus setting off at 6am.
