Two British students murdered by fishmonger

Fishmonger, Zulkipli Abdullah, 23, has been found guilty of murdering two British medical students in Malaysia.

Abdullah killed Newcastle University students Aidan Brunger and Neil Dalton, last August,  in Sarawak on the island of Borneo.

After being found guilty by the country’s High Court he was sentenced to death.

Witnesses sought after British Olympian killed

Swindon Advertiser: Peter Tarsey, then 19, competed at the Melbourne Olympics

Police are expected to continue investigations into the deaths of a British former Olympic diver and his wife found shot dead on a sofa at their villa in a "sleepy" Spanish village.

Expats Peter and Jean Tarsey, both 77, were discovered at their home in Xalo, near Benidorm in eastern Spain, on Sunday afternoon.

Mr Tarsey competed in swimming for Great Britain at the Melbourne Games in 1956 and for England at two Commonwealth Games.

Football Team GB to be scrapped

Swindon Advertiser: Gaston Ramirez in action for Uruguay at the London Olympics against Team GB.

The Football Association has scrapped plans to field Great Britain men's and women's football teams at the 2016 Rio Olympics, according to reports.

The FA reportedly wrote to the Scottish, Welsh and Northern Irish associations on Monday to inform them of the decision after failing to gain their support.
