ALBION ROVERS boss Paul Martin is determined his side's unbeaten Third Division record will stay intact at Annan tomorrow.

Rovers sit in joint-fourth place with their manager's cut-price outfit confounding early season predictions of a struggle at the bottom of the table.

But Martin knows that Annan will be burning for revenge after having their own unbeaten run ended by his side last term.

The Cliftonhill gaffer said: "We are proud of the fact that we are still unbeaten after five games and we have played all the fancied teams like Livingston and Forfar.

"But we went to Annan last season and ended their unbeaten record and managers like Harry Cairney have long memories "They have had a bit of sticky start but now seem to be putting things back together.

"On their turf Harry will have them out for three points - there is no question about that."

Rovers face a tough away double-header over the next four days with a trip to Hampden to face Queen's Park on the agenda next Tuesday.

But the ebullient Martin feels his troops are in good shape to meet the challenge.

He said: "Apart from Todd Lumsden, who will have ankle surgery next week and Jamie Ewings, our keeper, who is a doubt with flu, we are in pretty good shape.

"I would say that we definitely have the strongest squad during my period in charge here."

However, there is one area where improvement is needed.

"Last week we had four one-on-ones with the Forfar keeper and took none," said Martin.

"But Pat Walker and Davie McFarlane are a new combination and there is no doubt that they have goals in them."

Elsewhere, Queen's Park travel to Livingston looking to claim their first win in four games.
