THE largest vintage fashion archive in Europe is making its way to Swindon.

ANGELO will tour the UK for the first time with a series of exclusive pop-up shops and displays showcasing designer Angelo Caroli’s vintage fashion collections, alongside a curated Timeless Style exhibition celebrating fashion and style through the ages.

The vintage festival will grace the UK from April 30 until May 17, following a tour in Italy last summer.

And the tour will launch at Swindon’s Outlet Centre during a special VIP weekend of events on May 2 and 3 as part of a special vintage festival.

Entitled Timeless Style, the pop-up exhibition will celebrate statement fashions that have left an enduring mark in the history books of the 20th century.

Shoppers will discover hand-picked treasures of the fashion world from the iconic Gucci Bamboo bag and Yves Saint Laurent safari jacket to the ageless Chanel quilted chained bag and further beautiful creations from the 40s to the 90s.

The exposition will also carry a rare edit of striking designs worn by celebrity idols.

These include 60s pin-up Jane “Barbarella” Fonda, American bombshell Marilyn Monroe and the original bespoke, hand-made Hermès bag inspired and created for Jane Birkin.

Shaeren McKenzie, group marketing director at McArthurGlen, which runs the Swindon Outlet Centre, said: “ANGELO is one of the most illustrious fashion institutions renowned for unique pieces that cannot be found anywhere else in the world.

“A hit with the fashion crème-de-la-crème, what better way to celebrate McArthurGlen’s rich fashion heritage than by hosting this vintage heaven.

“We’re excited to provide our shoppers the ultimate shopping experience with one-off vintage, a specially curated exhibition and up to 60 per cent off our exceptional offering from the top names in fashion.”
