AUTHOR Stewart Ross aimed to inspire the next generation of creative writers when he paid a visit to Bradon Forest School in Purton yesterday.

Stewart, who has just released The Soterion Mission, gave a workshop to Year Seven pupils and did a book signing with the whole school.

Librarian Denise Styles said: “It has been an amazing day.

“The children have really enjoyed it and joined in.

“Stewart has been incredibly attentive and was incredibly enthusiastic getting the children involved.”

Stewart’s new book is about a world where there are no adults and how young people survive.

One of the activities the author did with the children was helping them write snappy introductions.

Denise said: “He got them to come up with two snappy opening sentences with the aim of the work to get a reader involved from the very start.”

Stewart has published more than 250 titles during his career.
