A TEENAGERÂ who burgled a house on a neighbouring street has been remanded in custody by a judge.
Jesse Cookson, 19, had been due to stand trial after pleading not guilty to carrying out the raid on the house in Norris Close, Chiseldon, on Tuesday, November 18.
But before a jury could be sworn in on the day of trial Cookson, of The Crescent, in the village, changed his plea to admit what he had done.
Cookson had already admitted burglary and attempted burglary carried out in Swindon a week earlier.
In the first matter he stole four bottles of Stella Artois lager from a garage attached to a house on Marlborough Road and then tried to break in next door.
Recorder Ian Lawrie QC adjourned the case to Friday, May 15, and remanded him in custody until then.
