HAVING a waggy tail or looking most like their owners could be a winning trait for dogs taking part at an forthcoming show in Swindon.

The RSPCA North Wiltshire branch fun dog show will take place on Bank Holiday Monday, May 25, at The Westcott Recreation Ground in Wootton Bassett Road.

The dog show, which starts at 11am, will include classes such as most handsome dog, dog with the waggiest tail and best rescue dog.

And there will also be a class sponsored by Thameswood Veterinary Clinics for the nurses’ favourite.

But it won’t just be dogs showing off on the day.

There will also be a large number of ducks present – all of the plastic variety – as the day will incorporate the Swindon Old Town Rotary Club duck race.

RSPCA North Wiltshire branch manager Richard Clowes said a raft of attractions would be running alongside the more competitive elements of the day.

“As well as a chance to watch and participate in the dog show and join in with the duck race, we have lots of stalls and other attractions planned," he said.

"So it should be a great day out for the family and their dogs.

“And all the proceeds from the show itself will go towards the RSPCA North Wiltshire branch, helping us to carry out our vital work helping local animals.”

In order to enter the show, all dogs must be at least six months old.

Classes start at 11am and registration starts at 10am.
