YOUNGSTERS received a mayoral visit as they basked in the red-and-white glow of St George’s Day celebrations.
Pupils at St Mary’s and St Catherine’s Catholic primary schools in Swindon were visited by town mayor, Councillor Teresa Page, on the day.
The youngsters were dressed in red and white, to mirror the St George’s flag, for the day and Coun Page spoke at both schools during assembly to tell them about her role and the council itself.
“Our visit from the mayor has really enhanced our St George’s day celebrations,” said Ruth Lee, associate head at St Catherine’s.
“The children have been very excited about her visit to both schools in our parish (St Mary’s and St Catherine’s) and had the opportunity to ask her questions about the important role that she has carried out on behalf of our town.”
