TWO Swindon nurseries have been ranked among as two of the south west’s finest.

The Co-operative Childcare centres at Great Western Hospital and in Shrewsbury Road, Walcot, came second and third respectively out of the region’s 1,048 following a study by website Day Nurseries.

The accolades are based on recommendations by parents and guardians of the youngsters.

The friendly and professional attitude of staff was highly praised in the study with awards being given to the two centres.

Tracy Rundle, nursery manager at the Great Western Hospital, said: “Based at the heart of the community, we constantly strive to provide an excellent service for all of our children and their families.

"For both our Swindon nurseries to be recognised by an industry body like Day Nurseries is real testament to our wonderful colleagues and all the hard work they put in.”

The company, which support developing youngsters, is delighted with the performance of the two centres.

Beverley Badminton, manager of the Walcot centre, said: “We are very proud to have been rated so highly and it’s all the more rewarding for us to have made it to third place when the feedback comes from our own parents.

“To celebrate we will be hosting an open evening on Wednesday and Thursday, May 13 and 14, from 3pm to 7pm when prospective parents can come and see why we’ve been rated so highly.”

Day Nurseries believe it is a great achievement for the two Co-operative Childcare centres to perform so well.

Davina Ludlow, Director of Day Nurseries, said: “We would like to congratulate both of The Co-operative Childcare nurseries in Swindon on being a top recommended nursery in the south west of England.

"It is a fantastic achievement to be recognised as a highly recommended nursery by the families and carers of the children that attend the setting.

“Their recommendations show the warmth and excellent care that exists in so many day nurseries.

"The first five years of a child’s life are vital in shaping the adult they will become, which is why we decided to recognise those nurseries which are playing such an important part in our children’s lives.”
