A HEALTH and wellbeing day was held at a leisure centre in Swindon.

The event, at Grange Leisure Centre, in Stratton St Margaret, featured information and advice for people on how they can maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Visitors to the centre could take part in different activities and workshops, showcasing sports including body box and street snooker.

Healthy living and food workshops were also held for those who wanted to find out more.

A number of Agencies were on hand to provide health and wellness information, including LIFT Psychology, MS Group and a nurse who was giving health checks on request.

A spokesman from Stratton St Margaret Parish Council, which manages the centre in Grange Drive, said the event was also a chance for people to find out more about the centre itself and what it has to offer.

“Grange Leisure is owned and managed by Stratton St Margaret Parish Council,” he said. “Since the successful completion of our refurbishment project last year, we wanted to share the best kept secret in Swindon and invite local residents to see what our leisure centre has to offer and establish it as a Health and Wellbeing hub for the community. To showcase what’s available in this field, We developed the Health and Wellbeing day to welcome people from all ages and to offer a wide and varied programme including information, talks, demonstrations and interaction.

“Whether it was someone who needs information or has a family member or a friend in need of support, all that information was available at our health and wellbeing day.”
