Driven team will help you achieve ultimate wellbeing

FITNESS and beauty have traditionally been kept well apart geographically - with one strictly reserved for the gym and the other confined to the hair salon or nail parlour.

But a pioneering team in Old Town has at last bridged the gap by offering hair styling, beauty therapies and exercise classes in a single wellbeing centre.

Based at the former Trousseaux bridal boutique, in the High Street, the venue stretches over three floors.

Hair salon Miller & Holland occupies the ground floor, while The Beauty Level, run by Rachel Bendell alongside fellow therapists and Euphoria osteopathic clinic, is located on the first floor.

The top floor is home to a state-of-the art personal training gym and a yoga, pilates and dance studio.

The centre is the brainchild of Vikki Holland, owner of Miller & Holland, and creative director Chris Miller.

Already running their business above the bridal shop, when the entire building became available they took over the lease and set their sights on launching a wellbeing centre.

"We were hidden away in our little secret salon for three years," said Chris. "When the wedding shop decided not to renew their lease Vikki decided to take over the building.

"The bottom line is we saw the potential and it all happened organically. We found the right people to join us. It's about being beautiful internally and externally.

"From looking at your health and fitness to beauty, we do everything. We still have a few little bits to work on and we'll be opening a blow dry bar - but we are loving it. It's the biggest thing we've ever done."

Jamie Honour, a personal trainer and founder of Honour health and wellness, joined the business and transformed part of the attic floor into a gym.

"There was a need for it in Old Town," said the 31-year-old, from Swindon.

"There was nowhere that offered fitness and personal training classes in one place. It's a really big space. You could spend the whole day here, with the beauty therapies and training."

Sharing the separate studio space on the top floor is Forrest Yoga teacher Charlie Speller, founder of Lumaia.

As well as running three yoga group classes a week, she offers bodywork, Reiki and essential oil consultations.

"I'm excited to be part of this new venture," said the 36-year-old.

"It's a place where people can come to feel good, whether that's taking care of their physical body - getting their hair and nails done, coming to get strong, getting out of pain, or their emotional wellbeing. Everyone involved is at the top of their game, so it's a real pleasure to be working alongside them."
