A TEENAGER who asked a woman he had assaulted to drop the charges against him has been remanded in custody.
Daniel Read sent letters and made telephone calls to a woman asking her to retract an allegation between Friday, November 14 and Wednesday, December 17, last year.
The 19-year-old, of Booth House in Spring Gardens, pleaded guilty to two counts of common assault and one of witness intimidation.
He admitted assaulting the same woman between Friday, November 7, and Sunday, November 9, and again on Wednesday, November 12.
Michael Hall, defending, told Swindon Crown Court his client was in custody and asked for a pre-sentence report to be prepared.
Recorder Michael Vere-Hodge QC adjourned the case to Friday, May 22 and remanded him in custody until then.
