POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a 20-year-old man suffered a broken jaw in an early-hours assault by two men in the town centre.
The attack happened at about 4am on Sunday, April 26, when the victim was attacked outside Swindon Rendezvous, a Chinese restaurant, in Princes Street.
He suffered a fractured jaw and needed hospital treatment.
Police say it is believed the victim was helped by two members of the public who prevented the assault continuing further.
Now police have appealed to anybody who was in the area at the time and may have information to help officers with their enquiries.
Call DC Mike Armishaw at Swindon CID on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, where information can be left anonymously if preferred.
