A THREE-vehicle crash led to the closure of one lane of the A3102, close to Junction 16 of the M4, this afternoon for just over an hour.
Police are looking into the exact cause of the incident which saw an elderly woman taken to the Great Western Hospital.
It is not thought she was seriously injured but paramedics took her in as a precaution.
The incident, which happened near the Spittleborough Junction, occurred at 1.40pm and involved a black Ford Focus, a blue Vauxhall and a white Volkswagon van.
As a result of the lane closure there were hold-ups tailing back in both directions with people taking nearly half an hour to get between Royal Wootton Bassett and the motorway.
It is thought that no arrests were made at the scene.
