Market manager Kardien Gerbrands talks about Swindon farmers' markets

THERE are always opportunities for new food businesses to join the local farmers’ markets.

We are always on the lookout for new artisan local producers whether it be with primary produce straight from the farm and field, or secondary produce made using local ingredients.

The make-up of the market is constantly evolving and when a business leaves we are always hoping a new Swindon-based business will take over the pitch.

In recent months we have lost the very popular pie stall and more recently La Parisienne have stopped trading.

This creates an opportunity for a food entrepreneur to come forward and excite us with their products, so if you’ve always thought you could run a food business why not give it a try?

We can give you all the advice you need to start production and selling either by going on our website at www.fresh-n-local.co.uk or by emailing us at markets@fresh-n-local.co.uk.

Selling direct to the public at a farmers’ market is a great way to get feedback and can help any food business to hone their products and find out what makes the customers tick.

If you are interested in starting a food business and would like to sell with us at the Sunday farmers’ market then why not get in touch?

It could be the beginning of a wonderful career!

And whether you’re interested in starting a new business or not, don’t forget to come along to the market this Sunday from 10am to 4pm find some great local food.
