A HELPINE giving Swindon carers advice on benefits has increased its hours.
The Swindon Carer Centre runs the Benefits Advice Line and, thanks to funding from Zurich and other fundraising, it will be available for longer from today.
The lines will be open for carers, young carers and the families of young carers, on 01793 531133, from 10am until noon from Tuesday to Thursday during school terms.
During holidays, the line will be open from 10am until noon on Tuesdays only.
“At other times carers can leave a message that they would like a call back,” said a spokesman.
“We also will be able to do home visits on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings by appointment to get general benefits advice and to help fill in forms," said a spokesman.
“Unfortunately we cannot help with appeals other than giving general advice.
“We hope we can help carers and their families to increase their income and take away some financial concerns.”
