A STRAWBERRY drive at a Swindon farm will give people the opportunity to combine to fruity past times.

Lotmead Farm will be holding the event this weekend, which will see their classic English strawberries working in tasty harmony with vintage vehicles.

Running across Saturday and Sunday, visitors will be able to check out a raft of classic cars on display, as well as savouring the delights of the farm's strawberry crop, which is available for picking.

And organisers are calling on all classic and vintage car enthusiasts in the area to bring their vehicles to the farm throughout the weekend to show off their pride and joy.

A spokesman for the farm said anyone bringing a vehicle to display will also benefit from a discount on their strawberries.

"What's more, there will be loads of seasonal fruit and vegetables, plus Lotmead's famous sumptuous strawberries ripe and ready for the picking - and anyone who brings a classic car will also get a discount on their strawberries," he said.

And there was plenty to do for those who are not into cars too, he added.

"Lotmead also has a small animal enclosure, featuring alpacas, pygmy goats, pigs and a micro pig, lambs and many more animals, making it a great day out for all the family," he said.

Other events at the farm also planned for this month include a Mid-Summer Fayre, which features a display of old tractors and agricultural implements, together with some more up to date machinery that will help show how a working farm keeps in motion.

The event will run across next weekend, Saturday and Sunday, July 11 and 12.

Lotmead Farm Pick Your Own is situated just off Wanborough Road and is open every day, from 9.30am until 7pm.
