HOMEGROWN artist Samuel Lindup will showcase his latest work at Artsite until the end of July.

The draftsman, painter and 3D designer studied art at Swindon College and has seen his work displayed at The Ashmolean Museum in Oxford. His current series explores mass consumerism and mass production.

"Sometimes I feel like we are drowning in a world of plastic bits and pieces, with wave upon wave of more tat flowing into the world,” he said. “The values of working with what we already have or what we can fix up ourselves to make do have nearly gone. Now our culture promotes having the newest gadget over and above everything else despite the cost to the environment or our own pockets.”

Samuel will lead an outdoor colouring event in Theatre Square on July 18 between 12pm and 4pm.
