Rocking at the Rolleston has been the catch phrase of Swindon's down town music pub for many years.

This month Status Promotions is presenting a riotous mix of rock bands, including tribute outfits The Blox, performing the music of Ian Dury and the Blockheads, the blues of Joe Bonamassa from Sloe Train, and the Ozzy Osbourne tribute Wizards of Oz.

Homegrown rockers come in the form of The Teddy White Band, headed up by Pete Cousins, and featuring the soaring voice of Anish Noble Harrison. They are followed later in the month by classic rock covers from Shepherd's Pie.

Voodoo Vegas bring some new, original rock tracks they wrote themselves, and Ruzz Guitars' Blues Revue take us right back to some good ole rock 'n' roll.

The Lewis Creaven Band, from Bristol, mix up rock covers and their own songs. They are currently working on their debut album.

The Rolleston, based in Commercial Road, is well established as a live music venue but also offers hearty meals and Sunday lunches.

The music nights are Friday and Saturdays starting at 9pm and are free of charge. For more details call 01793 534238. - Flicky Harrison
