Market manager Kardien Gerbrandstalks about Swindon farmers' markets

WELL this odd year of changes at the Sunday farmers market at the Designer Outlet continues unabated as we say goodbye to the Old Farmhouse Bakery, who are leaving the market due to staffing issues, and welcome back the ever popular La Parisienne bakery.

Their extended absence is at an end (also due to staffing issues!) and their return means that we can once again treat ourselves to one of their great loaves; including focaccia, ciabatta, sour dough, rye, walnut, my favourite the massive multiseed brown loaf and, of course, baguettes.

And how long since we savoured the egg tart with raspberry puree? The delectable fruit tarts, the lemon being especially vibrant? The sturdy almond croissant? Too long!

They also have a range of savouries including pizza, mini quiches and cheese croissants and to cap it all the man on the stall will be the ever popular Graham.

Also returning will be the seafood paella stall from Paul the Fish. Paul will be cooking two paellas; one seafood and one chicken and chorizo so the lunchtime treats available will be fabulous this Sunday.

If the stall goes well Paul hopes to be bringing fish in the near future.

Elsewhere the soft fruit season continues with cherries (about 2 more weeks) raspberries, strawberries, currants and plums.
