WHAT’S IT LIKE?
A building has stood on the grounds of the Sun Inn since 1685. By 1779, The Sun alehouse had been established as. It cut a rather unusual figure in the Swindon landscape with a blacksmith shop attached to the premises.
The present building was opened in 1937 and is the third on the site.
Today, The Sun is one of Arkell's largest pubs. It was refurbished in 1989. In 2013, it welcomed its first bed and breakfast guests.

With its large garden and inviting playground, it is the ideal watering hole for parents with young children; even more so as it is a stone's throw from Coate Water Country Park, much loved by walkers, boaters and fishermen alike.
