A MAN who is accused of taking part in a string of burglaries at hotels has been remanded in custody by a judge.

Lee Dommett is said to have stolen wallets, purses a mobile phone and camera equipment in a string of raids.

It is alleged the 32-year-old first burgled The Kings Arms in Wood Street, Old Town, with intent to steal on Sunday July 12.

The next day it is said he took a purse from the dental surgery in Market Place, Cirencester.

He is then said to have stolen camera equipment from a room in The Bell at Fairford on Wednesday, July 15.

He is accused of being back at the hotel ten days later trying to steal, before allegedly carrying out three raids on Monday, July 27.

It is said he took a wallet and cigarettes from The Mercure Hotel in South Marston, a purse and memory stick from the Highworth Hotel and a mobile from the Corinium Hotel in Cirencester.

None of the seven counts of burglary have been formally put to Dommett, of Ramsbury Avenue, Penhill, and he has not entered any pleas.

Judge Peter Blair QC, sitting at Swindon Crown Court, adjourned the case to Friday, August 21, and remanded him in custody until then.
