THE 1st Wootton Bassett Scout Group was selected as Sainsbury's Local Charity of the year in July 2014.
Since then they have worked hard to raise a total of £4,746 for group funds.
This includes £3,920 which was collected when members from all sections including Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers and leaders took part in regular bag packs at Sainsbury's in Royal Wootton Bassett, at sessions organised by Sandy Nicholls.
The group allocated some of the money to replace water activity equipment, and to make alterations to the group headquarters to accommodate the increasing number of members.
Scouting, which has been an important part of Wootton Bassett life since 1910, depends on the dedicated voluntary service of its leaders, whose work has benefited successive generations of young people.
