SWINDON is set to be at the heart of a former movie star’s big-screen comeback.

For two days next month the town will become a location for Fighting Talk, which will star Swindonborn Matt Fiddes, Transporter 3 actor Silvio Simac and former child star Mark Lester, who played Oliver in the Oscar-winning 1968 adaptation, which won six Academy Awards.

An undisclosed location will host filming, with Mark Lester confirmed as being at the shoot.

The movie has ‘a multimillion pound budget’, according to a spokesman for the production.

Fiddes, a former Michael Jackson bodyguard and martial arts guru, is to star in the movie as Carson Baker – his fourth lead role.

The 36-year-old was spotted by the movie’s director, Robby Haynes, in Italy earlier this year.

And after a short audition, he was offered the role.

The cinematic release of Fighting Talk next year will see Mark Lester, 57, return to the screen in his first movie role since Crossed Swords in 1977.

He shot to fame after appearing in the 1968 adaptathrough Michael Jackson in 1999.

Lester was convinced to star in the action movie by Fiddes, says publicist Daniel Webb.

He said: “I can confirm that actor Mark Lester will return to the big screen next year after being cast in the movie Fighting Talk.

“I can further confirm that he will be visiting an undisclosed Swindon location in September to shoot a scene for the film with his co-stars Matt Fiddes and Silvio Simac.

“Unfortunately, for security reasons, I cannot reveal that location, or dates of the filming.”
