THREE men involved in a violent incident in a Stratton pub have been warned they could be facing jail.

Daniel Brown admitted causing actual bodily harm while Callan Chapman and Daniel Hackett both pleaded guilty to causing an affray.

But the trio, who were involved in the fracas in The Bakers Arms on the evening of Friday, June 5, pleaded on a certain basis.

Swindon Crown Court was told that one of the other men involved in the incident was subject to a restraining order relating to 32-year-old Brown's partner.

He admitted punching another man, sending him to the ground, while Hackett, 29, of Cunetio Road, and Chapman, also 29, of Argyle Street, admitted affray.

The court was told that Brown, of Meadowcroft, and Chapman, have a previous conviction for affray which was committed together.

Adjourning the case for pre-sentence reports Judge Peter Crabtree said: "The starting point is custody for all three offenders.

"This is violence and affray in a public house at night. The circumstances make it serious.

"But the circumstances make it unusual in the behaviour of one of those who was in the public house. The probation service can look at other options as well."

He released them on bail to Friday, September 18, on the condition they do not go to The Bakers Arms or contact witnesses.
