SOCIAL media-savvy shoppers could be in with the chance of winning £100 to spend in Swindon’s top shopping destinations, thanks to the inSwindon BID Company.

Shoppers making use of the special summer holiday shuttle service between Swindon Designer Outlet and the town centre are being urged to take a selfie of themselves on board the bus and share on social media with the hashtag #SwindonShuttleSelfie.

A winner will be selected at random at the end of next week, and they will receive £50 to spend at the outlet and £50 to spend at the Brunel Centre.

The shuttle, launched by the inSwindon Business Improvement District Company, picks up shoppers from the train station and stops off at various points around Swindon town centre, and the Swindon Designer Outlet. It has been launched to encourage shoppers to visit all aspects of the town’s retail offering.

BID manager Di Powell said: “We are pleased to launch the #SwindonShuttleSelfie competition as a fun way to actively engage with people and give them an extra incentive to use our free Shopper Shuttle to visit the town centre.

"The younger generation are huge selfie fans and interacting with people through social media is allowing us to reach a larger audience to let them know about the service. This has been especially effective when promoting to people outside of the Swindon area.

“We have been really pleased to see so many people using the bus to travel into the town centre, with a high amount of people travelling into town who don’t live locally.

“Good luck to everyone who enters, get your entries in fast as the closing date is Friday, September 4.”
