MORE activities will be featured in this year's Old Town Autumn Fayre than ever.

With food outlets, live music from the Bill Bailey Jazz Band, vintage swing boats and traditional games from Hoopla to Beat the Goalie, there will be something for the whole family in the Christ Church grounds and Old Town Community Centre on

Saturday, September 12, from noon to 4pm.

Among the new activities will be stunning birds of prey flying demonstrations with falcons, raptors and owls with a chance to handle these beautiful birds. For the first 100 children there is a free teddy bear to claim!

There will be a real ale and cider tent, and gorgeous cakes in the tea garden while those who prefer hot and savoury dishes can sample locally-sourced burgers and sausages and African street food dishes.

There will also be craft and heritage stalls, at the event, which is free to visit, plus plants to brighten up your garden and local produce to purchase and you can try your hands at bell ringing if you can tackle the 46 steps of the church tower.

Organiser Daphne Hardwick said: “After the success of last year when so many local families enjoyed the fayre we are delighted to be introducing more new features and look forward to a another wonderful local community event. It’s going to be great fun and we look forward to seeing lots of people on the day.

"The new Community Centre @Christ Church which was opened by Nick Hewer last year has proved a massive hit with local groups and has provided a lovely new venue to support the Old Town Autumn Fayre.”
